Our award winning period renovation received the honour of the Bayside Best Heritage Renovation and Restoration Award.
The project was a complete refurbishment with the addition of a second storey, designed with respect for the property’s heritage, implementing design solutions for contemporary living. We demolished the 1970’s renovation, peeling back the layers to restore the home’s traditional brickwork, windows, feature urns and bluestone.
The front of the home was sympathetically rejuvenated to reveal the original cornices, ceiling roses, archways and parquetry flooring. We extracted design inspiration from the original materials and detailing, with the cornices and feature flooring repeated throughout to bring a sense of continuity.
The double storey extension at the rear, with the addition of a basement garage was purpose built to not be visible from the front of the property, so it doesn’t visually interfere with the traditional streetscape. The renovation resulted in a blend of traditional grandeur with all the comforts of a modern, evolving lifestyle.
