More often than not, we work on extending a home out the back or up…this project was different! This 1920’s Californian Bungalow in Kew had already undergone an extension and upgrade to the rear of the property, but it was time to introduce uniformity and modernity to the front of the 1920’s residence.
Calling on our Luxe by Sherbrooke offering, we designed in collaboration with LSA Architects.
The majority of the interiors were updated and renovated, including the newer rear extension. We delivered a complete refresh and redesign for the home owners, in detailed consultation.
The warm, complimentary contrasts of timber and copper repeat themselves throughout the property, commencing with a warm welcome on arrival. Angular lines, variation in width and dimension provide a lovely texture and visually pleasing result. Oak, walnut, sandy toned stone, glass and brass play the lead character in this project – along with the strategically placed generosity of the windows and contemporary facade.
The frameless fireplace, surrounded by earthy materials and shelving, acts as an anchor for the home, a meeting place. It was an honour for us to work on this project, to ‘flip the script’, marrying up what was working for our client and finding solutions for what wasn’t.
