Our client’s Leonie and Tom had enjoyed the leafy lifestyle of Surrey Hills for over 16 years and we were initially engaged to renovate and extend their period home. But not all was as it seemed when the project struck challenges, discovering that previous building materials did not comply with building code.
We then engaged an engineer to assess the structure. Our director and owner Graham had never seen a challenge quite like this in 30 years within the building industry. When faced with such unexpected opposition to the original planning, it became even more important for us to find an affordable and successful solution for our client.
Working closely with Leonie and Tom, we proposed a complete knockdown and rebuild after receiving council approval.
Resulting in a fresh start with a tailor made double storey home that could not have been achieved with a renovation alone. We included character rich details and expansive indoor/outdoor areas to create a home and not just a house – with warmth for relaxed entertaining moving forward for decades to come.
